Rules & Class Description 2010

SNRHA will adhere to the NRHA rulles & bylaws for the year of 2010.

When there are questions the Board of Directors will refer to the NRHA Handbook for the current year.  The only exception are the 4 classes the are not held at the national level. They are SNRHA Green Reiner 1, SNRHA Green Reiner 2, SNRHA Ladies and SNRHA 2 Handed classes.

                  

SNRHA Green Reiner 1

A. Definition & Eligibilty for SNRHA Green Reiner 1

1. This SNRHA class is for riders who are new to reining.  This class is designated to help the beginner to develop confidence in the show environment.  There are no restrictions placed on the ownership, breed, age, training of prior riding experience of the horse. Green Reiner 1riders will progress out, based on points earned on the rider.

2. SNRHA Green Reiner 1 riders are those who have no or very little experience in reining events.  They can't have earned any awards, money greater then fifty ($50.00) USD, or more than twenty (20) point in reining events at the beginning of the year.  They can't have reveived money for training. Awards, money or points earned during the current year apply for the start of the next year's eligibilty for Green Reiner 1 & Green Reiner 2.

3.  SNRHA Green Reiner 1 riders are given the following options:

a. SNRHA Green Reiner 1 riders have the option to ride one (1) or two (2) handed. However they enter the arena that is how they must ride the whole pattern.  Simple lead changes will not be penalized.

4. SNRHA Green Reiner 1 riders may show in SNRHA Green Reiner 1 until they reach twenty (20) points.  Points wil be accumulated on the rider.  When twenty (20) points or more have been reached they must move to SNRHA Green Reiner 2.  The plaque for SNRHA Green Reiner 1 will be awarded at the next show.

B.  Definition & Eligiblity for SNRHA Green Reiner 2:

SNRHA Green Reiner 2

1.  This SNRHA Green Reiner 2 class is for the rider who have not earned any awards, money greater than fifty dollars ($50) or more than twenty (20) point in reining events other than SNRHA Green Reiner 1 at the beginning of the year.  They can't have received money for training.  There are no restrictions placed on the ownership, breed, age, training or prior riding experience of the horse.  SNRHA Green Reiner 2 riders will progress out based on points earned on the rider.

2.  SNRHA Green Reiner 2 riders have three (3) ways to accumulate forty (40) points.

a.  They have already earned twenty (20) or more points in SNRHA Green Reiner 1 and received their plaque.  They go on to earn twenty (20) or more points in SNRHA Green Reiner 2 for a total of forty (40) or more points.  They can no longer show in SNRHA Green Reiner 2 and will receive their buckle at the year end awards.

b.  They may ride SNRHA Green Reiner 1 and 2 concurrently.  They must earn twenty (20) or more points in each class before they receive their year end buckle.

c.  A rider may choose to ride in SNRHA Green Reiner 2 only.  They must earn forty (40) or more points before they will receive their year end buckle.

C. Earning points for SNRHA Green Reiner 1 and 2

1. Fifty five (55) points will be subtracted from the score earned in each class.  The differnece will be the points earned.  For example a scor of sixty-five (65) minus fifty-five (55) would earn the rider ten (10) points. a zero score or scores less than fifty-five (55) will have no impact on the accumulation of points.

2.  When twenty (20) points are reached in either of these classes you will no longer be able to enter that class, unless you are only riding in SNRHA Green Reiner 2 then forty (40) points.

D. Eligibility & rules for Ladies:

SNRHA Ladies

1. Open to females only.

                           2. Will follow NRHA rules in all other areas.

E.  Eligibilty & rules for Two Handed.

SNRHA Two Hand

1. Horses must be riden two (2) handed.

2. Will follow NRHA rules in all other areas.
